NEW HAVEN, CT- The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference announced its All-CACC Softball Team this morning. Five different Georgian Court University student-athletes earned selection to the squad, including:
Rachel Ruch (2B-First Team),
Jess Comiskey (OF-First Team),
Brooke Hull (DP-First Team),
Kelsey Cutler (3B-Second Team) and
Diana Sansevera (P-Second Team).
Ruch, the 2009 CACC Rookie of the Year and NFCA First-Team All-American selection, batted .377 for the Lions with six home runs and 40 RBI during the regular season. The Edison, NJ native led the club with 58 hits, a .443 on-base percentage, .662 slugging percentage, 102 total bases and 12 stolen bases. Her 20 doubles ties the CACC record, established by Wilmington University's
Lindsay Watson in '09.
Comiskey earns her second career first team selection ('08) after batting .307 (47-for-153) with six home runs, 20 RBI, and 28 bases-on-balls. The Ewing, NJ native's team-leading 51 runs scored falls just one short of the conference record she and Caldwell's
Gina Capardi established in 2008.
Hull, a resident of Nazareth, PA, sent fear through the bones of CACC pitchers in '10, batting .364 (56-for-154) with nine home runs and a .623 slugging percentage. Her 57 RBI are just two short of the CACC record-59 collected by Dominican's Sarah Beck last season.
Cutler earns her first All-CACC accolades, batting .298 (45-for-151) and tying Hull for the team lead with nine long balls of her own. The Gloucester City, NJ native also tallied 34 RBI and a .503 slugging percentage.
Sansevera, the 2009 CACC and Daktronics East Region Pitcher of the Year, again paced the Lions in the circle with a 21-7 record and 2.39 ERA in 36 total appearances (27 starts). The Manalapan, NJ native also compiled a team-high 22 complete games, three saves and 228 strikeouts. Diana had the distinction of earning the Lousiville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Pitcher of the Week (week ending 3/30) after going 3-0 with a 0.67 ERA and 40 strikeouts.
The #3-seed Lions (33-15), the 2009 CACC Tournament champions, put their title on the line this Thursday in a first-round matchup vs. #6 Concordia College. First pitch is at noon.
