Last Time Out
• Georgian Court had a sweep of the CACC Championship meet as both the men and women earned the team title.
• The Lions totaled nine event winners between the two teams.
• They also had 21 make the All-Conference Team with a first or second place finish.
Georgian Court Awards
• Georgian Court finished the CACC regular season earning 18 total Athlete or Rookie of the Week awards.
• They picked up their most last week, winning six of the eight available.
• Following their last meet, GCU swept all four on the women's side with
Shalom Adzakro and
Adrianna Fodera the respective Track and Field Athletes of the Week and
Sophia Mauro and
Daizhae' Brown the Rookies.
• The men had the Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week in
Ryan Pettrow and
Brian Kutney.
• Leading the way with three weekly awards was
Daizhae' Brown.
Chiamaka Wokocha,
Chuck Smith,
Mark Linton and
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir all earned two.
• At the CACC Championship meet, they added 21 All-Conference awards and nine event champions.
National Qualifiers
• Earlier in April, both
Mark Linton and
Malicah Etienne hit national qualifying marks in the discus.
• Linton currently ranks 24th in the discus nationally while Etienne is 30th.
• Last year, there were 22 discus throwers at the NCAA Championship meet.
New Look Top-10
• Between the indoor and outdoor season, Georgian Court has 81 new marks for 2026.
• Outdoors that number is 46 new marks.

Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir and
Daizhae' Brown are each in the top-10 in four different events.
• Fellow freshmen
Sophia Mauro in the 800m and
Sydney Hurley in the pole vault have cracked the top-10. Two weeks ago, Mauro set a new school record in the 1500m.
• Throwers
Adrianna Fodera,
Kaydence Fischer and
Chiamaka Wokocha have seen improvements in the shot put, discus and hammer throw, respectfully. Wokocha also has moved up in the discus.

Shalom Adzakro set a new PR in the 100m hurdles and entered the top-10 in the long jump.
• In the men's throws, there have been nine new marks.
Cameren Anderson stamped his name in the record books in all four throwing events.

Guius Dabney in the shot put,
Malicah Etienne in the shot put and discus,
Mark Linton in the discus and hammer throw and
Amir Spruell-Everson in the hammer throw have new 2026 marks in the top-10.
• The Lion men set four new school records this year. Two from
Barone Vankline in the 100m and 200m and
Mark Linton in the hammer throw. The men's 4x100m relay team also broke the school mark at the CACC Championships.
• The sprints also have
Brandon Rudder with new PR's in the 100m, 200m and 400m,
Nick Jordan in the 100m dash,
Brian Kutney in the 110m hurdles and
Gary Boyd, Jr. in the 400m hurdles.

Zachary Spoonire and
Stephen Lane in the 800m,
Nolan Kus in the 5K and 10K and
Matthew Schaub in the 10K represent the distance runners in the top-10 this season.

Shona Mutokuto and
Matthew Sutton in the triple jump,
Chuck Smith in the long jump and
Sean Donnamaria in the pole vault are four GCU jumpers with top-10 marks in 2026.
• The men's 4x400m relay team of
Marcos Murillo-Benavides,
Zachary Spoonire,
James McCoy and
Brandon Rudder ran the second fastest time in school history at the conference meet.
Who's Competing?
West Point Twilight
• Only
Malicah Etienne and
Mark Linton are entered to compete at the Army West Point Twilight.
• Etienne is entered in the shot put and discus while Linton is entered in the discus.
• There is a chance weather has an impact on the meet.
• Whether or not they get the chance to throw, they are both entered in the same events Friday at Stockton.
Stockton G. Larry James Invite
• In addition to Linton and Etienne, the throwers will send
Cameren Anderson to compete in the shot put and
Amir Spruell-Everson in the hammer throw.
•
Adrianna Fodera is in two throwing events competing in the shot put and hammer throw.
•
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir is throwing the shot put and
Chiamaka Wokocha the discus to round out the GCU throwers.
• Sveinsdottir is also competing in the long jump along with
Daizhae' Brown.
• Brown will have a chance to enter the GCU top-10 in a fifth event. She's scheduled to run the 200m dash for the first time this season.
• The sprints will also have
Shalom Adzakro running in the 100m hurdles and
Sophia Mauro and
Nora Sprunger in the 400m.
• The men have
James McCoy and Gary Boyd running at 200m and 400m.
• Six Lions will run at 800m -
Colin Broadbelt,
Stephen Lane,
Ryan Pettrow and
Zachary Spoonire for the men and
Kerry Ann Hohenshilt and
Samantha Lonseth for the women.

Nolan Kus is entered in the 5,000m and
Brenna Sullivan in the 1500.
•
Sydney Hurley is the only vertical jumper as she's entered in the pole vault.
•
Chuck Smith in the long jump and
Shona Mutokuto and
Matthew Sutton in the triple jump hold down the horizontal jumps.
• Georgian Court also has a men's 4x400m relay entered with those running in the 800m making up the squad.
