Georgian Court Taken Down by #16 West Chester, 20-4

West Chester, Pa. - The Georgian Court University women's lacrosse squad spent its Saturday at West Chester University where the Lions struggled vs. the #16 Golden Rams in an eventual 20-4 setback.

WCU, in its first outing of the season, owned a 5-0 advantage before GCU's Arianna Quinlan put the Lions on the board at 13:17 of the first half with her third goal of the year. The home team proceeded to tally eight unanswered goals to enter intermission with a 13-1 surplus.

Shaine Sauter collected the first goal of her collegiate career to commence the second stanza (27:12) before West Chester (1-0) accounted for seven of the contest's nine remaining goals to cruise to the non-conference triumph.

Nine different players registered goals for the Golden Rams, topped by Tara Morrissey (So.-Dowingtown, Pa.) with her four. Teammates Tatum Altman (So.-North Brunswick, N.J.) and Sami Barnett (Jr.-Glenolden, Pa.) contributed hat tricks in the effort.

Angelina Palermo paced the Georgian Court offense with a pair of second-half scores.

Nicole Martins (So.-Bethlehem, Pa.), in 30:00 of action, earned the win in the West Chester cage needing only a lone save to do so. Amber Neumann had quite a contrasting experience in the GCU net, collecting 13 saves in a complete-game effort for the Lions.

Georgian Court (0-2) will next visit the New York Institute of Technology Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
