Lakewood, N.J. - Samantha Fernandez poured in nine goals, and Nicole Barbella dished eight assists, as Georgian Court University's dynamic duo combined for an astounding 17 points Tuesday afternoon in the Lions' 16-11 non-conference home victory over visiting Lock Haven University.

Fernandez, the reigning CACC Player of the Week, now has compiled 16 tallies over her last two games having netted seven scores in GCU's 19-12 triumph last Friday at Shippensburg University. The senior tandem leads the conference with 25 goals and 25 assists, respectively.

The Lions (3-3) came out firing as the home team connected for six of the contest's first seven goals to take a 6-1 advantage with 15:10 to go in the initial half of action. The Bald Eagles (1-3) responded with five of the next six successful scoring efforts to slice the deficit to 7-6 with 6:30 left before the break.

Georgian Court would outscore its foe, 3-2, over the remaining time to escape into intermission with a slim 10-8 surplus. The Lions came out of the half to connect on six of the stanza's nine goals, securing back-to-back victories for GCU for the first time in 2019.

Madison Heck followed her teammates with a four-goal effort in the win while Arianna Quinlan contributed a hat trick . GCU dominated the shots column, 40-26, and owned a 31-19 advantage on frame.

Braxtin Reddinger (Jr.-Hanover, Pa.) topped Lock Haven with four points in the game (2 goals, 2 assists) while Karli Gilbert (Sr.-Perkiomenville, Pa.) knocked in a hat trick for the Bald Eagles.
