Jan Phyl Village, Fl. - Georgian Court University picked up a second-straight regional triumph Friday as the Lions held off fellow 2019 NCAA regional qualifier, University of Bridgeport, by a score of 3-2 in GCU's first contest of the day.

Mikayla Gilgert (6 H, 2 BB, 2 K) was masterful in the circle for the victors as the Lions' ace permitted just a solo homer in the fourth inning en route to the complete game victory. The sophomore slinger improves to 3-5 on the year with the effort.
An 11-run fourth inning did in Georgian Court as Grand Valley State University (11-3) scorched the Lions, 17-3, in five frames to take the nightcap. A
Malaya Black three-run shot in the home half of the third provided the lone highlight of the contest for GCU.
The Lions (5-11) conclude their week-long journey through the Sunshine State Saturday afternoon with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Florida Tech in Melbourne, Fla.
