Men's Lacrosse Plays #6 Seton Hill Tough in Eventual 10-7 Loss to Griffins

Greensburg, Pa. - In a back-and-forth affair, Georgian Court played #6 Seton Hill University tough to the final horn as the visiting Lions eventually suffered a 10-7 setback to the host-Griffins Saturday afternoon in NCAA Division II non-conference men's lacrosse action.

GCU owned a 5-2 edge with 7:44 to go in the first half. Seton Hill sprinted for a 4-0 run as the Griffins slipped ahead, 6-5, with 11:28 to go in the third frame. The two squads alternated the next four tallies to keep the home team in the lead at 8-7 with 8:10 left. The Griffs grabbed the final two scoring efforts to create the ultimate three-goal cushion for the victors.

Despite the close final score. Seton Hill owned the shot column, 60-39, which included a 34-22 shots-on-goal advantage. Austin Geissel played a vital role in keeping the Lions' close as the senior goalkeeper collected a season-high 24 saves in the complete-game effort for GCU.

Kevin Mo (Jr.-Collegeville, Pa.) garnered 15 saves in the winning performance for the 6-0 Griffins.

Logan Maloni (Sr.-McMurray, Pa.) paced the Seton Hill offense with a game-best four goals while Thomas Hanulak (Jr.-Gibsonia, Pa.) added a pair of his own in the triumph. Thomas Levasseur netted two goals for Georgian Court while five other Lions added one apiece in the contest.

GCU (4-4) prepares to play its first home contest since Feb. 25 when the Lions welcome #18 Saint Anselm College on campus this Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
