Fourth-Quarter Run Sends Southern New Hampshire Past Georgian Court in Non-Conference Tilt ... Fields Nets 21 Points for Lions

Manchester, N.H. - Tied 50-50 after three quarters of action, Southern New Hampshire unleashed a 22-11 run through the fourth-and-final frame as the host-Penmen topped visiting Georgian Court University, 72-61, Saturday in NCAA Division II non-conference women's basketball.

In a contest that witnessed six stalemates and score changes, the GCU (1-2) squad was only able to grab a pair of brief one-point surpluses on the afternoon (third quarter). SNHU improves to 3-1 with the victory.

Gyanna Russell (Gr.-East Hampton, Conn.) paced the home team with 20 points on the day, shooting 8-of-12 from the floor in 24 minutes. Meg Knollmeyer (Gr.-Hampton, N.H.) dominated the glass for an impressive 26 rebounds, while adding 15 points for the double-double performance. Adriana Timberlake (Jr.-Braintree, Mass.) recorded 13 points in her 31 minutes of play.

Anyssa Fields topped all players with her 21 points for the Lions as the sophomore star played all 40 minutes for the royal-and-gold. Leighanna Lister, in her first start of the season, grabbed nine boards to complement her 12 points. Erika Aspajo added 10 points as the freshman also played every minute.

The Lions return to action Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. with a non-conference visit to St. Thomas Aquinas College.
