Rockville Centre, N.Y. -
Randy Collins ripped a game-high five goals to lead visiting Georgian Court University to a 12-7 non-conference road win at Molloy College in Wednesday's NCAA Division II men's lacrosse action.
The victory marks GCU's second-straight "W" vs. Molloy (2/25/20). Georgian Court had dropped the first four decisions vs. their fellow Lions since debuting in 2016.
With the home team owning a 3-1 lead at the 7:48 mark of the first period, the Lions exploded for five unanswered tallies to double up Molloy, 6-3, with 8:09 left in the second. Georgian Court would not lead by less than a two-goal margin the rest of the night, as the eventual victors netted five of the contest's last seven scores to ease into the win column for the second-straight game to start the season.
Daniel Burnham and
Tallen Smith each registered a pair of goals and assists in the effort while
PJ Saracino, making his season debut, also poured in a pair. Burnham was also a beast on the turf as the junior cleaned up seven ground balls.
Dylan Pool added a goal and two helpers.Â
Austin Geissel showed his stuff in net for Georgian Court, improving to 2-0 on the year with 13 saves in the complete-game (60:00). Despite the result, Molloy actually out-shot its guest, 33-29 (20-19 shots-on-goal).
The royal-and-gold (2-0) returns home to host #9 Mercy College Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Watch the action LIVE at
