Philadelphia, Pa. -
Leighanna Lister's team-leading seventh double-double of the season served as the shining light of an otherwise drab evening for Georgian Court University as the Lions suffered a 74-52 defeat at the University of the Sciences Tuesday in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's basketball divisional action.
Lister, in 27 minutes of action, garnered 10 points and game-highs of 13 rebounds and two blocks for the Lions.
Anyssa Fields paced the GCU offense with her 12 points in the setback.Â
The host-Devils never trailed in the home win, building a 44-27 advantage at intermission en route to a high-water mark of 25 points (73-48) with 2:29 remaining in regulation. USciences, led by
Kendall Keyes (Sr.-Mount Laurel, N.J.)Â and her 20 points, improve to 13-3 on the year (8-2 CACC).
Jess Huber (Gr.-Hatfield, Pa.) and
Anna McTamney (Fr.-Plymouth Meeting, Pa.) followed with 19 and 16 points, respectively, in the triumph.
The royal-and-gold (6-11, 3-7 CACC) returns to the Wellness Center to take on Dominican College Saturday at 12:00 p.m. in a rematch of the 2020-21 CACC title game. The #2 Lady Chargers upended top-seed Georgian Court, 81-65, back on March 6, 2021 to take the conference crown. Both squads would advance to the NCAA Division East Regional Tournament, hosted by Daemen College in Amherst, N.Y.
