Women's Basketball Starts Season 0-2 After Trip to Connecticut

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Nov. 10, 2024) - Georgian Court Women's Basketball wrapped up a busy opening weekend in Connecticut. Just 24 hours after opening day, the Lions were right back on the court against St. Anselm. Georgian Court couldn't hold off a hot-shooting Hawks team and fell 84-46.

• Rebounding numbers were also closer with the Hawks holding a 44-33 advantage. They grabbed 17 offensive boards though to score 29 second-chance points.
• The Lions cut down on their turnovers, losing the ball 22 times after giving it away 38 yesterday. St. Anselm coughed it up 12 times.

• GCU started the second half with a Maria Stanescu layup and Julia Whesper three-pointer.
• The stops though weren't coming on the defensive end.
• The Lions put up a game-high 16 points in the fourth quarter shooting 6-14 from the floor with Jade Dickson scoring six points.
• It wasn't enough though to give St. Anselm any kind of scare they rolled to an 84-46 win.
