ERIE, Pa. (Feb. 29, 2024) - Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse suffered their first set back of 2024. In a low-scoring game, the Lions fell 11-7 at Mercyhurst who is recieving votes in the IWLCA top-25 poll.
How it Happened
• Mercyhurst had a big advantage off the draw winning 16-22.
• The Lakers were also 10-10 on clears with the Lions going 15-17.
• Georgian Court turned the ball over 17 times and Mercyhurst 13.
• There weren't many free-position shots. GCU was 1-4 and the Lakers 0-2.
• Mercyhurst outshot GCU 26-22.Â
First Quarter
• In a low scoring first, Mercyhurst got on the board with a goal three minutes in.
• Michaela Scirrotta tied things up scoring with
Isabel Raimondi picking up the assist.
• That's how things stayed after the first.
Natalie Moradian made two saves in the period.
Second Quarter
• Tied again at two, the Lakers scored four straight, the final three coming in a 2:26 span.

Remi Reinhardt scored with 2:20 left in the half to cut the score in half as the Lions trailed 6-3.
Third Quarter
• After getting down three to start the third, Georgian Court stormed back with three straight to tie.Â
• The Lions scored three in a 3:25 span.
Bryleigh Tejchman got it started at the 7:50 mark.

Remi Reinhardt chipped in on the next two. Assisting on a goal from
Isabel Raimondi and scoring the game-tying goal with 4:25 in the third.
• The Lakers ended the period with a goal, going to the fourth up 8-7.
Fourth Quarter
• Mercyhurst's defense stood on its head in the fourth, pitching a shutout.
• The Lakers punched in three goals and went on to win by four, 11-7.

News and Notes
• Georgian Court has still never started a season 4-0. They've been 3-0 in five seasons.
• The 11 goals the Lions allowed are tied for the fewest this season. Their seven are the fewest they've scored.
