LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 23, 2024) - The rain didn't let up Saturday afternoon and neither did Georgian Court. The Lions seem unfazed by the poor weather conditions and went to work in a 22-8 win over Caldwell. The Lions move back over .500 for the season at 5-4 and sit at 2-0 in CACC play.
How it Happened
• It was all Lions from the jump. They dominated possession as evidenced by the 2:1 shot differential at 54-27.
• Georgian Court won 23-34 faceoffs to jumpstart the offense. They were 18-22 on clears and forced Caldwell into 24 turnovers.
• Caldwell won 11 faceoffs and made 9-15 successful clears. They turned GCU over 20 times.
• On the ground it was another 2:1 differential. GCU got to 58 and Caldwell 29.
First Quarter
• For a brief period of time this game was tied up.
Millan Webster scored for GCU and a little over two minutes later, the Cougars answered and after five minutes we were still tied at one.
• That played out again with the Lions'
AJ Bratton giving GCU a 2-1 lead, but Caldwell again finding the equalizer.

Doug Mackenzie gave GCU a 3-2 lead and that was the start of a 16-0 run for the Lions.
• Afer Mackenzie scored, the Lions popped four more in just 64 seconds. Webster scored another then
James Sanford with the man advantage and then right off the faceoff,
Aidan Miranda took the ground ball to the net and
Justin Iannarone did the same right after for a 7-2 GCU lead after one quarter of play.
Second Quarter
• The Georgian Court defense pitched a shutout in the second and extended their lead scoring six more times.

Brett Bridges scored three of his four goals in the second quarter.
• Bridges and Mackenzie went back-to-back with man-up goals.

Tyler Burns and
Tallen Smith also scored in the second for the Lions who were up 13-2 at the break.
Third Quarter
• It was more of the same for Georgian Court in the third quarter, who put up another six spot.
• Webster and Smith scored just 26 seconds apart to start the half.
• Bridges added his fourth and Tyler Michelski got one on the board.
• Caldwell finally stopped the scoring streak at 16 straight, but
Davin Baldock finished the third with a goal and a 19-3 GCU lead.
Fourth Quarter
• Credit to Caldwell who played hard through the final whistle. They outscored Georgian Court 5-3 in the final frame.
• The Cougars five goals in the fourth were two more than they had in the first three combined.

Harrison Jordan started the fourth getting the Lions to 20.
• Trailing 21-4, Caldwell scored four straight, including one shorthanded.
• The deficit was far too much though and Baldock put the finishing touches on the game with his second goal for the 22-8 Lions win.

Brett Bridges scored four goals and picked up three ground balls.

Harrison Jordan and
Millan Webster also recorded hat tricks.
•
Tallen Smith totaled four points with two goals and two assists.
•
Tyler Burns had a team-best three assists.
•
Justin Iannarone won 10-14 on the faceoffs.
Garrett Kenny was 7-8.
• Iannarone also led the Lions with seven ground balls. Kenny and
James Sanford each had four.

Vincent Burns,
TJ Parrett,
Vaughn Meehan and
Brodie Seaborn all caused two turnovers.

Vincent Burkhart made five saves and allowed four goals in 50 minutes.
For the Cougars
• Jason Staudte scored three goals with an assist.
• Jayden Paladino also scored three times.
• Gavin Starr picked up a pair of goals.Â
• Valentin Soltys won 11-30 faceoffs.
• James McCarthy grabbed five ground balls and caused two turnovers.
• Shane Murphy made 12 saves.

• The Lions remain unbeaten all-time against the Cougars, moving to 4-0.

Garrett Kenny took his 300th career faceoff.
•
James Sanford scored his 30th career goal.
•
Michael Schone played his 40th career game.
• Twelve different Lions scored a goal and 17 scored a point.
• The Lions 12 assists are their most in a game this season and the 34 points match a season-high.Â
• The Lions .407 shot percentage is also a season-best. It's their first time above .400 this season.
• Dating back to 2022, Georgian Court has now reached 10 straight regular season CACC wins.
