FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Nov. 28, 2025) - It was a close game in the Lions opening matchup in Florida. A brief run by Palm Beach Atlantic in the third quarter allowed them to pull away and secure the win.
1st Half

Niyell McCargo put the Lions on the board after the Sailfish opened with a 5–0 run. She responded with back-to-back baskets to start the Lions' offense.
• The Lions shot 33% in the first quarter, with
Niyell McCargo accounting for six of the team's nine points. Despite her strong start, the Lions trailed by two at the end of the period.

Chelsea Lavezzo made her basketball debut, checking into the game and knocking down a jumper for the Lions.
• The last three points of the half were scored by
McCargo, and the Lions trailed 19-22.
2nf Half
• The Sailfish scored the first four points, extending their lead to seven.

Alexi Hoy scored a three to put the Lions within four.
• A few more Sailfish baskets extended their lead to nine at one point.

Amyah Bray had a layup and a free throw to end the quarter and bring the Lions within six.
• A three by
Alexi Hoy and a layup from Jade Dickinson to open up the 4th quarter brought the Lions within one.
•The Sailfish led by as much as ten in the fourth quarter.
• Despite the Lions outscoring the Sailfish 16-15, it was not enough. They lost 52-47 in their first game in Florida.
