PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (March 1, 2025) - Georgian Court Women's Basketball needed a win and some help to qualify for the 2025 CACC Tournament. Neither fell the Lions way meaning thier 2025 season came to an end with a 64-56 loss at Chestnut Hill.
How it Happened
• Neither team shot the ball well. Georgian Court hit 32% from the floor and the Griffins just 24%.
• The difference, by far was at the free throw line where Georgian Court was 11-18 and Chestnut Hill 38-54.
• Georgian Court grabbed 50 rebounds, outrebounding CHC by 12.Â
• The Lions turned the ball over 30 times leading to 19 CHC points. The Griffins lost it just 17 times.
1st Quarter
• It took nearly four minutes for either team to score.
Imani Gillette made a layup with 6:11 left for the game's first points.
• Gillette scored the first four points of the game and GCU never trailed in the frame.

Julia Whesper hit a three midway through and the Lions were up five.
• Gillette finished the quarter with two at the free throw line and Georgian Court was up four, 13-9 after 10 minutes.
2nd Quarter
• Baskets from Gillette and
Jade Dickson to start the second gave the Lions their largest lead of the game, 17-9, two minutes in.
• Scoring was very hard to come by in the second as the teams were a combined 4-24 from the floor.
• Chestnut Hill hit a pair at the line to close the half and the GCU lead was still four, 20-16 at the break.
3rd Quarter
• The Lion lead was still four at the five minute mark of the third quarter.
• Chestnut Hill took their first lead with two minutes play, breaking a 31-31 tie at the free throw line.
• The Griffins finished the third on a 6-0 run and had a four-point lead of their own, 35-31, heading to the fourth.
4th Quarter
• Chestnut Hill put the game away at the free throw line. They were 21-30 in the fourth quarter alone.
• Through the first half of the fourth, Chestnut Hill was on a 13-6 run, extending their lead to 48-37.
• GCU fought back though. A
Samantha Jones three and Whesper layup brought the lead all the way down to three, 50-47 with under three minutes to play.
• The Griffins held off GCU at the foul line. Of CHC's final 14 points, 12 came from the line as the Griffins won 64-56.

Imani Gillette led the Lions scoring 14 points with 19 rebounds. She also blocked two shots.

Julia Whesper was in double-figures scoring 12 points.

Tyra Lovelock added seven points.

Samantha Jones chipped in eight points.
For the Griffins
• Tiayo Adelekan scored a game-high 15 points with 12 rebounds.
• Sara Tamound was 9-10 at the line and scored 12.
• Avery White scored 10 with four rebounds and four assists.

Imani Gillette scored her 500th career point.
• The Griffins 38 free throws and 54 attempts are the most by a GCU opponent this season. The 58 attempts are the most any team has attempted this season across all three NCAA Divisions. No other team has even attempted 50. The 38 made free throws are the second most a team has made in a game this season.
• Georgian Court finishes the season 6-22 overall and 6-10 in the regular season.
