WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (March 8, 2025) - Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse played their first of two games down in Florida Saturday afternoon. The Lions allowed exactly three goals in all four periods and fell to Palm Beach Atlantic 12-8.
How it Happened
• Georgian Court was outshot 33-20, and 25-16 in shots on goal.
• Draw control numbers were fairly equal. The Sailfish won 12 and the Lions 11.
• Turnovers again played a big part. GCU lost the ball 18 times while forcing PBA into just 12 giveaways.
• Neither team made a free-position shot. The Lions were 0-5 and the Sailfish 0-2.
• Georgian Court was called for three games and PBA four. Each team scored once with the extra attacker.
1st Quarter
• After Palm Beach Atlantic got on the board first, Georgian Court answered with a pair of goals.

Caitlin Petrellese tied and game and
Jill Konschak gave the Lions a 2-1 lead just 63 seconds later.
• PBA answered with two of their own, one on the power play to take the lead back.
• With 4:14 left,
Nena Menard retied it at three, and that's how things stood after one.
2nd Quarter
• Georgian Court grabbed another one-goal lead when
Isabel Raimondi found
Gabrielle Battle midway through the quarter.
• The Lion defense had done a great job for much of the second, but things started to fall apart late.
• The Sailfish tied the game with just under five minutes to go in the half. They scored another just 39 seconds later for the lead and went up 6-4 with 3:02 to play.
• Georgian Court earned a woman-up advantage with 2:09 left, but couldn't convert.
Madison Battle caused a late turnover and Petrellese found Raimondi to bring GCU within one, 6-5, with just 18 seconds left in the half.
3rd Quarter
• Coming out of the half, PBA shut the Lions out in the third.
• They scored three minutes in to extend their lead and added two more, one with six seconds left in the frame.
• PBA pushed their lead to a game-high four, 9-5, entering the fourth.
4th Quarter
•
Sophia Raimondi scored a power play goal early in the fourth to snap the 3-0 Sailfish run.
• PBA answered with two goals in 36 seconds.
• Petrellese and
Isabel Raimondi each scored late for the Lions, but it wasn't enough as the Sailfish put the game away, 12-8.

Isabel Raimondi totaled four points with two goals and two assists.
•
Caitlin Petrellese scored twice and won a team-best four draw controls.

Nena Menard and
Jill Konschak each scored a won three draws.
•
Madison Battle caused three turnovers and picked up two ground balls.

Natalie Moradian made 13 saves.
For the Sailfish
• Georgian Karns made seen saves in 45 minutes allowing five goals.
• Rachel Delate scored five goals with an assist.
• Arianna Tribble cause three turnovers, won four draw controls and helped out with an assist.
• Olivia Larges scored four goals and dished out one assist.

• The last time GCU didn't score a free-position goal, it was also in Florida. That was Feb. 27, 2023 at Tampa.
• The last time neither team scored a free-position goal in a game was March 19, 2022 at Post.
