Softball Forces If-Necessary Game, But Fails to Advance in CACC Tournament

WILMINGTON, Del. (April 27, 2025) - The No. 3 vs. No. 6 matchup of the CACC Tournament saw Georgian Court Softball have to travel to Wilmington, Delaware to take on the three-seeded Goldey-Beacom Lightning. GCU, as the No. 6 seed, had to win twice to advance while GBC only needed one win. Both games saw outstanding pitching performances as there was just three combined runs in 16 innings. The Lions were on the plus side of a 1-0 shutout in game one, but on the short end of a 2-0 shutout in game two. Unfortunately with the loss, that means the season comes to close for Georgian Court Softball in 2025.

• Cheyenne Jackson pulled a one-out single in the ninth to get the Lions started. She stole second and Reagan Winn brought her in with an opposite field double to give GCU the lead.
