Philadelphia, PA (Jan. 14th, 2026) -Coming off an impressive win, the Lions were unable to keep their momentum, falling to the Griffins after being outscored in every quarter of the contest.
How it Happened
• Chestnut Hill shot 36.4% compared to GCU's 23.7%.
• Chestnut Hill won every quarter of the contest.
• Chestnut Hill shot 23-26 from the free throw line compared to the Lions 13-24.
First Quarter
• Niyell McCargo had the first four points of the game for the Lions.
• She accounted for all of the Lions scoring in the first quarter until the five-minute mark, when Imani Gillette broke through with a free throw.
• The Griffins led 12-7 going into the second.
Second Quarter
• Just 20 seconds in, Tikyra Miller knocked down a jumper, but neither team was able to score again over the next four minutes.
• Six straight points from the Lions, four of which were from Farrah White, cut the lead down to one.
• GCU did not score for the remainder of the quarter, whereas Chestnut Hill went on a 14-0 run.
•The Griffins led 28-13 going into the second half.
Third Quarter
• The Lions fell behind by as many as 22 points in the third quarter.
• Even in their highest-scoring quarter of the game, the Lions were narrowly outscored 18–17 by Chestnut Hill.
• The Lions were able to cut the lead to 16 going into the last quarter.
Fourth Quarter
•Chestnut Hill closed out the game strong, outscoring the Lions in the final quarter.
• The Lions made a strong effort on the boards late, collecting four offensive rebounds in the final quarter.
• The Griffins defeated the Lions 44-67.
