GCU Struggles At Home Against Felician

LAKEWOOD, NJ (FEB.14th, 2026) - Georgian Court Women's Basketball struggled against Felician and fell 87-52 at home. 

How it Happened
• Felician shot 48.5% in the game compared to the Lions 33.3%. 
• Felician scored 40 points off turnovers compared to the Lions 19. 
• The Lions had 25 turnovers compared to the Golden Falcons 18. 
• Felician pulled down 47 rebounds, and the Lions just 25.

1st Quarter
• Things started off in favor of GCU, a layup from Niyell McCargo and a three from Karissa Smedley gave the Lions the first five points of the game. 
• Felician quickly responded by going on a 17-0 run. 
Lions went scoreless for six minutes until Farrah White had a floater. 
Farrah White would have the only other two baskets of the quarter for GCU. 
2nd Quarter
Samantha Jones would give the Lions a layup to put them back on the board. Niyell McCargo followed quickly with a layup. 
• A minute later, Karissa Smedley would hit her second three of the game, and it would be the Lions last points of the quarter. 
Felician went on another 17-0 run, and held the Lions scoreless for the last six minutes of the half. 
• The Lions trailed 45-18 heading into the break. 
3rd Quarter
• The third quarter was a more competitive quarter for both teams, Felician outscoring the Lions 24-18. 
• Felician maintained their offensive presence and extended the lead to 35 going into the final 10 minutes. 
• The Lions had six turnovers in the quarter. 
4th Quarter
• An offensive drought for the first three minutes for the Lions allowed the Golden-Falcons to extend their lead to 43 early in the fourth. 
Niyell McCargo put six points on the board in the fourth.
• Both teams scored 18 in the fourth. 
• Despite the even scoring quarter, the Lions still fell 52-87.

Niyell McCargo had 14 points. 
Karissa Smedley had 13 points. 
Farrah White had six points and two steals. 

For the Golden Falcons
Ane Valle had 26 points and 11 rebounds.
