Women’s Lacrosse Comes Up Short in CACC Tournament Semifinals

ORANGEBURG, NY (April 30, 2026) -Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse returned to the CACC Tournament semifinals, where the fourth-seeded Lions faced top-seeded Dominican in a battle for a spot in the championship game. The Lions fell behind early and were unable to recover, ultimately dropping the contest 11–7 and bringing their season to a close.

How it Happened
• Dominican took a big advantage on shots 37-18. 
• Draw controls were at 10 a piece. 
• Georgian Court turned the ball over 19 times compared to Dominican's just eight.

1st Quarter
• Dominican started the game with five goals while the Lions were left scoreless after the first quarter. 
• Addison Sullivan began scoring for DUNY and got the Chargers up 1-0 early. 
• Madison Mielti then assisted on the next three Charger goals to give Rylie McGhan, Addison Sullivan, and Leila Paz a goal. 
• Mileti then had the final goal for Dominican at 1:38 to give them a 5-0 lead going into the second. 
2nd Quarter
• The second quarter started in favor of GCU, which had two goals to open up the scoring. 
Gabrielle Battle had the first goal of the second quarter at 10:47. 
Two minutes later, Caitlin Petrellese had the Lions second. 
• Dominican responded with a three-goal run to close out the quarter, as Kate Frae, Madison Mileti, and Madelyn Grella each found the back of the net.
3rd Quarter
• Caitlin Petrellese had two goals for the Lions to cut the lead down to four goals. 
• Madison Mileti scored the only goal in the third for the Chargers at 8:13. 
Caitlin Petrellese found Gabrielle Battle to bring the score to 9-5 going into the final 15 minutes. 
4th Quarter
• It was Caitlin Petrellese again who had her fourth goal to cut the lead to three. 
• The Chargers answered back immediately with another Mileti goal. 
Erynn Richey, one minute later, brought the lead to just three again. 
• Madison Mileti had her final goal at 10:10, which was also the final goal of the game. 
• Despite a late push, the Lions were unable to generate any additional shots in the final 10 minutes and ultimately fell 11–7.

Caitlin Petrellese had four goals, one assist, and two draw controls. 
Gabrielle Battle had two goals. 
Nena Menard had seven draw controls. 
• Natalie Moradian  had 12 saves. 

For the Chargers
• Madison Mileti had five goals and four assists. 
• Addison Sullivan had two goals. 
• Jenna Rigo had six ground balls and six caused turnovers. 
• Daneila Parisi had six saves. 

News and Notes
• Georgian Court has made the CACC semifinals each year as a member of the CACC.
Caitlin Petrellese finished her career playing in 76, matching the most all-time. She has started in every single game of her career. 
• DUNY has outscored GCU 43-14 in first quarters in the last eight games.
