Robert Soricelli enters his first season as an assistant coach on the Georgian Court University softball coaching staff after serving the past four seasons in the same capacity at Mercy College (NY).

The resident of Staten Island, N.Y.  served previously as the assistant softball coach/recruiting coordinator at Brooklyn College during the 2015 season. While a member of the Bulldogs' coaching staff, Soricelli assisted in all aspects of the program, including practice preparation, field maintenance, home game management, scouting reports and recruiting. Soricelli also served as the lead bench coach, making in-game adjustments on both offense and defense. 

Prior to joining Brooklyn College, Soricelli was a member of the coaching staff at Division III Fairleigh Dickinson University. Soricelli held the position of lead bench coach for the Knights and was the hitting and pitching instructor.

Soricelli got his start in the college softball coaching ranks at Sarah Lawrence during the 2013 season where he assisted the Co-Head Coach of the Year in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC). While a part of the Gryphons' coaching staff, Soricelli was the lead pitching instructor, calling pitches during games and served as the team’s first base coach.

Soricelli also brings an impressive fast pitch softball playing career to the Mavericks, having been named an Amateur Softball Association (ASA) All-American five times and winner of five national titles, while also being inducted into the New York State ASA Hall of Fame in 2007. A former draft pick of the New York Yankees, Soricelli was twice voted as one of the top 60 players in the county for Men’s fast pitch softball and was a two-time USA Men’s National Team Olympic Festival Participant.

Soricelli attended SUNY Farmingdale and currently resides in Staten Island with his wife Lori and daughters Danielle and Joelle.
