Tim Briles

Dr.Timothy Briles Ed.D.

Dr. Briles enters his tenth year as the Faculty Athletic Representative for GCU Athletics.  After serving as the Vice Chair of the CACC Faculty Athletics Representatives Committee for the last two years, Dr. Briles takes over as the chair for the 2016-2017 academic year. 
 
As Assistant/Associate Professor of Education since 2007, Dr. Briles teaches in both the Teacher Preparation and Administration and Leadership Programs.  He has served as the Coordinator of the Teacher Preparation Program at GCU’s Communiversity Campus in Wall, and has also been the Co-Director of the NASA Educational Resource Center formerly housed at GCU.   Dr. Briles served two years as the Co-Chair of the Administration and Leadership Program and one and a half years as the Assistant Dean of the School of Education.  In June of 2016, Dr. Briles was named as Special Assistant to the President for Strategic Planning.
 
Prior to joining Georgian Court, Dr. Briles taught in both the math and science departments of Gloucester Catholic High School (1999-2007), while also serving as the school's vice principal, beginning in 2002.
 
No stranger to athletics, Dr. Briles coached three sports (football, basketball, and softball) at Delsea High school in Franklinville, NJ for over ten years. He also worked with the University of Pennsylvania junior varsity men's basketball squad for three years (1996-99) while he received both his undergraduate (B.A. Mathematics) and graduate (M.S. Ed. Higher Education Administration) degrees.  He finished his formal schooling at St. Joseph’s University where he earned his doctorate degree in Educational Leadership.
 
Dr. Briles, his wife Kristy, and their three children, Shannon, Kacey and Patrick, reside in Toms River.
