Joe Hoffmann joined Georgian Court in September of 2022 as the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Operations. Hoffmann oversees media efforts for all 16 Georgian Court athletic programs and gameday management.Â
Before coming to GCU, Hoffmann was in Warrensburg, Mo. at the University of Central Missouri for seven years starting as the Assistant Director of Communications for three years. He then took over as Athletic Communications Director in 2017, holding the position for four years.Â
While at UCM, Hoffmann was responsible for communications for all 17 intercollegiate sports. In his seven years, Hoffmann oversaw publicity for 28Â MIAA Championships, 18 NCAA Central Region Championships and four NCAA National Championships for the Mules and Jennies. Central Missouri won the 2015 Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. In 2017-18, Jennies Soccer and Jennies Basketball were each crowned National Champions. Soccer went undefeated at 26-0, the most-ever wins in a single-season in Division II. Basketball defeated top-seed Ashland, 66-52, snapping their NCAA Division-II record 73-game winning streak.Â
Prior to Missouri, Hoffmann spent a year as the Sports Information Intern at Murray State University in Murray, Ky in 2013-14. There he worked with the volleyball, track and field, tennis and rifle programs. He oversaw publicity of the 2014 OVC Champion women's tennis team and was the coordinator for the 2014 NCAA Rifle National Championship, held on the Murray State campus.Â
Hoffmann graduated from SUNY Cortland in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He was a member of the Red Dragons Track and Field team, winning the 2009 SUNYAC Indoor Conference Championship.
Upon graduation, Hoffmann first worked at St. Joseph's College in Brooklyn from 2010-12. He was the Sports Information Assistant and also helped coach the cross country team and direct recreational sport programs.Â
In addition to his work on college campuses, Hoffmann has also been a summer intern and gameday assistant worker with the New York Jets. He was also a member of the Long Island Nets G-League Basketball stat crew in 2021-22.Â
Hoffmann currently lives in Tinton Falls, N.J., where he is a lifelong fan of the New York Mets, Jets, Islanders, Knicks and professional wrestling.Â
