PHILADELPHIA- The Georgian Court University volleyball team won its season-high 10th straight match of the year, 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-16),Thursday evening at Holy Family University (9-17, 7-5 CACC).
Senior
Janelle Murdock complied a double-double, consisting of 11 kills and 11 digs, while senior libero,
Ana Cruz (pictured), tallied a game-high 17 digs. As is usually the case, senior setter,
Lisamary Figueroa, led all players with 38 assists.
The Lions (16-7, 11-0 CACC), now set their sights on this Saturday when they take on top-CACC rival, Philadelphia University (23-2, 11-1 CACC) at 11:00 AM and the #1 team in the region, Dowling College (17-5), at 3:00 PM in the GCU Wellness Center.
GCU has won 23 straight matches in "The Well" since the gym opened in August, 2008 and an amazing 62 consecutive matches vs. CACC opponents. Coincidentally, the Lions last lost in CACC action on October 4th, 2006 ... vs. Philadelphia University.
Philadelphia will play Dowling at 1:00 PM.
