PIKE CREEK, DE- The GCU Volleyball squad won its fifth straight contest and improved to 7-0 vs. CACC competition (11-7 overall) with Thursday evening's 3-0 blanking of Goldey-Beacom College (5-12, 2-7 CACC).
The Lightning took the Lions to extras in the first game before succumbing, 26-24. GCU took control from that point and dropped GBC, 25-16, in both the second and third game.
Senior
Janelle Murdock led all players with her 11 kills and tied senior libero,
Ana Cruz, with a team-high 13 digs.
Stephanie Rivera contributed eight kills, while senior setter,
Lisamary Figueroa, tallied a game-high 27 assists.
The win increases GCU's winning streak vs. CACC opponents to 57 straight matches. GCU looks to increase that number on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Bloomfield College for a noon match-up.
