LOWELL, MA- The Georgian Court University volleyball squad concluded its weekend with a 3-0 loss to Rollins College (11-2) and Bentley College (3-4), Sunday afternoon at the Bentley Invitational in UMass-Lowell's Costello Gym.
The Lions fell to Rollins in the opener (23-25, 18-25, 22-25) before being blanked by host-Bentley (22-25, 23-25, 16-25). GCU concludes its weekend with a 1-3 record in the tournament and a 3-6 mark overall.
Senior
Janelle Murdock paced Georgian Court with 11 kills vs. Rollins, while senior
Lisamary Figueroa distributed 31 assists. Senior libero,
Ana Cruz controlled 12 digs in the effort.
In Game Two vs. Bentley, senior
Joann Zayas smashed a game-high 11 kills. Freshman
Alexa Santiago tallied a game-high 14 digs, while Figueroa led the club with 26 assists.
Murdock earned a place on the Bentley Invitational All-Tournament Team after averaging 12.25 kills-per-match and 6.75 digs-per-match.
The Lions play their home opener Tuesday evening when they welcome CACC-rival, Chestnut Hill College, to the Wellness Center at 7:00 PM.
