LAKEWOOD, NJ- After starting the season with nine straight matches on the road, the GCU volleyball squad finally commenced the home portion of its schedule Tuesday evening at the Georgian Court University Wellness Center by defeating Chestnut Hill College, 3-0.

The Lions, now 4-6 on the year (1-0 CACC), extend their winning streak vs. CACC opponents to 52 consecutive matches. The Griffins fall to 2-8 (0-2) with the loss.

GCU freshman, Talita Rocha topped all players with seven kills. Two-time reigning CACC Player of the Week, senior Janelle Murdock, smashed six kills and tallied five digs. Freshman Brandi Arsenault also drove home six kills and collected three digs. Junior Brooke Culver (pictured left) played splendidly off the bench, registering five kills without an error.

Senior Lisamary Figueroa remained solid at setter for the Lions, distributing 22 assists while senior libero, Ana Cruz, led all players with 18 digs.

Georgian Court looks to make it 53 straight on Thursday evening win they welcome Holy Family University (4-10, 2-0 CACC) to “The Well” for a 7:00 pm contest.
