LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University volleyball team improved to 7-3 in CACC action (7-13 overall) with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-22) defeat of Chestnut Hill College Tuesday evening in the GCU Wellness Center.
The victory extended the Lions' winning streak to two, which serves as a nepenthe for a sometimes frustrating campaign.
Amy Berry (15, .323 attack%) and
Brandi Arsenault (11) each reached double-digits in the kills department while
Nicole Sparks (13) and #Cindy Aquino# (10) did the same in the digs column.
Karol Oliveros led all players with 31 assists.
For Chestnut Hill (4-17, 1-9 CACC) both
Madelynn Ries (So.-Antananarivo, Madagascar) and
Cassie Benson (So.-Rosamond, CA) led the Griffins with five kills apiece.
Elisabeth DiGregorio (So.-Conshohocken, PA) and
Bobbie Chukuntarod (So.-San Francisco, CA) reached double-digits with 12 and 10 digs, respectively, while
Courtney Gallo (So.-Wilmington, DE) registered a team-high 11 assists.
GCU returns to action thisThursday when they take on Holy Family University for the first time since having its legendary conference winning streak of 74 shattered at the hands of the Tigers back on September 17th. The match is scheduled for 7:00 PM in the Wellness Center.
