LAKEWOOD, NJ- Kelly Lyons broke a scoreless tie on a penalty kick after being fouled in the box with just 35.8 seconds remaining in regulation as the Georgian Court University soccer team defeated Mercy College, 1-0, Monday afternoon for its fourth straight victory (6-3-1).

Mercy outshot the Lions, 12-10, but also committed 15 infractions compared to GCU's seven.

On a raw, rainy, miserable day, goalkeeper Shealyn Sullivan collected four saves to secure her fourth straight shutout. Mercy's netminder Stephanie DiLegge (So.-Bay Shore, NY) also garnered four denials.

 The Mavericks of the East Coast Conference fall to 2-6 on the year.

Georgian Court travels to Holy Family University on Wednesday for a 4:00 PM showdown, the squads' first meeting since the 2009 CACC Championship Game.
