PHILADELPHIA, PA- The 2010 volleyball season quietly came to a close Tuesday evening for the #4-seed Georgian Court University volleyball squad as the four-time defending CACC champions dropped a 3-0 decision (16-25, 14-25, 18-25) at top-seeded Holy Family University in the first round of the conference tournament.
The Lions end the year with a 12-20 record, including a regular-season conference mark of 11-8. This marks the first time since 2004 that GCU has not advanced to at least the CACC Tournament semifinals.
Stephanie Rivera, in the final contest of her stellar collegiate career, topped the Georgian Court offense with nine kills.

Holy Family (20-9, 16-3 CACC) will now take on Bloomfield College (11-15) of the CACC North Friday at 7:30 PM. The Lady Deacons upset Dominican College Tuesday evening, 3-2 (21-25, 25-18, 14-25, 25-21,15-11).
Caldwell College (22-7) will battle Philadelphia University (19-8) in the other semifinals match on Friday, which will commence at 5:30 PM. The Cougars defeated Nyack College, 3-0, and the Lady Rams dropped Wilmington University, 3-0, Tuesday evening.
Both the 2010 CACC semifinals and finals will be hosted by Georgian Court University.
