Milestones Galore for GCU in Lions' 20-8 Trouncing of Philly U.

LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University lacrosse team enjoyed as perfect an afternoon as one team possibly could as they established three major milestones while trouncing their top rival, Philadelphia University, 20-8, in the first meeting between the two squads since the Lady Rams got the best of the Lions in the inaugural CACC Championship Game last April.

With the win, the Lions (13-1, 10-0 CACC) clinch their second consecutive CACC regular season title and improve to 20-0 in  regular-season conference contests. The victory also marks the 50th triumph in program history  ... a history that commenced in 2007 with Head Coach Michael Migliorisi and 11 of the current players on his roster.

Laura Housel (pictured) became the fourth player in GCU history to reach the 100-goal plateau with a tally at the 4:58 mark of the first half, joining teammates Natalie Bermudez, Ryan McGrath and Christine Flaherty in the elite club.

Lauren Conaty led all scorers with six goals and an assist. Bermudez collected three goals and an assist while Daryl Carr drained two scores and two assists.

Flaherty, Kara Sanford and Devyn Flesch enjoyed two-goal efforts.

Christine Latteri, in 40 minutes of play, registered seven saves and her 13th victory between the pipes for the Lions.

With the loss, Philly falls to 7-6 (6-3 CACC).

Georgian Court next takes to the field on Monday afternoon for a non-conference contest at East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, PA.
