LAKEWOOD, NJ- One of largest senior classes in the history of GCU athletics played their final regular-season home game Saturday afternoon as the Lions drubbed Dominican College, 22-6, in a CACC matchup.
11 seniors, all charter members of the Georgian Court lacrosse program's initial season of 2007, received well-deserved accolades in a pregame ceremony. However, it was junior
Ryan McGrath that gave the crowd a preview of what to expect in her senior season next year as she led all scorers with eight points (six goals).
Fellow juniors,
Daryl Carr and
Lauren Conaty collected six points (two goals, four assists) and four points (three goals), respectively, on the afternoon to go along with multi-point games from seniors
Natalie Bermudez (two goals),
Laura Housel (two goals),
Alley Abbate (one goal, two assists) and
Christine Flaherty (one goal, two assists).
Shannon Mastrogiovanni registered two goals and a helper while
Samantha Shaw buried two goals with an assist.
Senior goalkeeper,
Christine Latteri, tallied six saves in net for the Lions to improve to 14-2 on the year.
The Lady Chargers fall to 6-8 (5-7 CACC).
The Lions(14-2, 11-0 CACC) now travel to Philadelphia University on Tuesday afternoon for a 5:00 PM contest, the final game before next weekend's (5/1-5/2) CACC Tournment, here at GCU.
