PHILADELPHIA- Next stop, CACC Tournament! The Georgian Court University lacrosse team completed another perfect regular season in conference Tuesday afternoon as the Lions (15-2, 12-0 CACC) blitzed Philadelphia University, 18-8. GCU, winners of 22 consecutive CACC regular season contests, enters Saturday's CACC Tournament as the #1 overall seed.
Natalie Bermudez (four goals),
Daryl Carr (three assists, goal) and
Laura Housel (three goals, assist) each sported four-point games.
Lauren Conaty tallied a hat trick while
Christine Flaherty collected a pair herself.
Christine Latteri, the winning net-minder in each of GCU's 22 conference victories, earned the "W" this afternoon with 10 saves in just under 55 minutes (54:47).
As the top seed, the Lions will host the #4 Lady Rams (7-10, 6-6 CACC) Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM in the first game of the tournament, a rematch of the 2009 CACC Championship Game. #2 Holy Family University (9-6, 8-4 CACC) takes on #3 Wilmington University (10-7, 7-5 CACC) immediately after the GCU-Philly contest, also on the Georgian Court campus.
Philadelphia enter Saturday's game as losers of five straight games.
