PHILADELPHIA, PA- The Georgian Court University volleyball team, after dropping its first eight contests of the 2010 campaign, finally enjoyed the taste of victory Tuesday evening with a 3-0 triumph at Chestnut Hill College (25-23, 25-12, 25-15).

The win also gives the Lions (0-8, 1-0 CACC) 74 straight wins vs. CACC opponents, just three shy of tying the national record for consecutive victories vs. conference foes, established by West Texas A&M from 9/18/99 to 10/10/03 in the Lone Star Conference. 

GCU fired up its offense for the first time all season with sophomore Amy Berry leading the charge with 10 kills, Sophomore Talita Rocha and senior Stephanie Rivera contributed nine apiece with sophomore Brandi Arsenault drilling eight of her own.

Freshman setter Karol Oliveros came within one dig (nine total) of a double-double as she also distributed 26 assists.

The Griffins drop to 0-7 (0-2 CACC).

The Lions strive for #75 this Friday night when they return to the City of Brotherly Love, this time for a 7PM match at Holy Family University.
