Lions' Conference Winning Streak Ends at 74 with Loss at Holy Family

PHILADELPHIA- The Georgian Court University volleyball squad, for the first time since October 7, 2006, was on the losing end of match vs. a CACC opponent as the Lions fell at Holy Family University Friday night, 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-20).

The iconic streak vs. conference foes, which included four CACC title drives for the Lions, reached an astounding 74 straight victories, just three wins away from the NCAA Division II record of 77, established  by West Texas A&M from 9/18/99 to 10/10/03 in the Lone Star Conference.

The defeat drops GCU's record to 1-9 (1-1 CACC) while the Tigers improve to 4-5 (3-0 CACC).

Amy Berry led the Lions with 10 kills to go along with five defensive digs. Setter Karol Oliveros collected 15 assists while Brandi Arsenault led the squad with eight digs of her own.

Georgian Court looks to kick start a new streak this Monday when the Lions welcome Philadelphia University to the Wellness Center for a 7:00 PM match.
