LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University volleyball squad ended its first CACC two-game losing streak in five years with a 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 17-25, 25-15) triumph over the University of the Sciences Thursday evening in the GCU Wellness Center. The victory marks the Lions' first at home in four tries this season.
Amy Berry enjoyed a double-double, topping all players with 14 kills (38 attempts) and 24 digs. 
Stephanie Rivera also got into the action with 11 kills (25 attempts) of her own. 
The freshman duo of 
Nicole Sparks and 
Cindy Aquino also achieved double-digits in the digs department with 15 and 14, respectively, while 
Karol Oliveros established a new career-high with 36 assists.
USP's 
Diana Solomon (Fr.-East Islip, NY) led the Devils' offense with 10 kills. Three USP players achieved double-digits in digs, including 
Stacey Wooden (So.-Levittown, PA) with 12, 
Sheryse Taylor (So.-Brooklyn, NY) with 11 and 
Coral Holly (FR.-Charlestown, RI) with 10. 
Sarah Hickman (Sr.-Newark, DE) distributed a team-high 17 assists for the Devils.
With the win, the Lions imporve to 2-10 (2-2 CACC) while USP slips to 3-4 (1-3 CACC).
GCU takes to the road for its next contest with a 2:00 PM match this Saturday afternoon at Caldwell College.
