LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University volleyball team easily defeated Goldey-Beacom College Thursday evening in the GCU Wellness Center, 3-0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-10), giving the Lions their first winning streak of the season.
The game moved quickly, like a lucifugous vampire at the break of dawn, as the squads completed its contest in under one hour (57 minutes).
Amy Berry tallied a game-high 14 kills and outstanding .345 attack % (29 attempts) while freshman libero
Nicole Sparks corralled 19 digs. As is usually the case,
Karol Oliveros led all players with 28 assists.
Goldey-Beacom freshman
Tyla Wells (Avondale, PA) topped the Lightning with five kills. Junior
Roni Shaner (Elkton, MD) earned a team-high 10 digs while sophomore
Monica Dempsey (Secaucus, NJ) distributed 11 assists and eight digs,
The Lightning falls to 3-9 (0-7 CACC) with Georgian Court improving to 4-11 (4-3 CACC).
GCU looks to add to the streak this weekend when they host its first tri-match of the season with an 11:00 AM contest vs. CACC-rival Felician College followed by a 3:00 PM match vs. Millersville University.
Felician and Millersville will do battle at 1PM.
