LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University volleyball team, playing its second match in two days, dropped a 3-1 decision to first-place Holy Family University Tuesday evening in the GCU Wellness Center.
The Lions fell, 16-25, in the first set, but looked pyrophoric in set two with a 25-23 victory. Unfortunately, the sparks would extinguish as GCU dropped the next two frames by scores of 12-25 and 17-25.
Amy Berry secured the game-high with her 13 kills while
Jaslene Lopez did the same with 28 assists.
Francheska Cedres led her teammates with 11 digs.
Holy Family's
Chelsea Keegan (So.-Bucyrus, OH) topped the Tigers with 24 assists while
Jillian Keeve (Sr.-LaGrange, IL), Jordan Beland (Sr.-Shrewsbury, PA) and
Devyn Ingram (Fr.-King of Prussia, PA) eclpised double-digits in the digs column wth 14, 12 and 10 respectively.
Georgian Court drops to 7-18 (6-8 CACC) while Holy Family sees its record improve to 16-10 (13-1 CACC).
The Lions take tomorrow off before returning to the court Thursday evening with a home match vs. Wilmington University. Start time is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
