LAKEWOOD, NJ - The Georgian Court University volleyball squad dropped its sixth straight match Monday evening with a 3-1 (26-24, 19-25, 19-25, 21-25) defeat to visiting Kutztown University in a non-conference contest in the GCU Wellness Center.
The loss marks the Lions' 11th over their last 12 outings and drops the team's record to 5-15 on the campaign.
Tatiana Villariny and
Jaslene Lopez shined for the Lions as both posted double-doubles on the night. Villariny established a career-high with her 24 kills to go along with 10 digs. Lopez distributed 44 assists and controlled 11 digs.
Maria Antimisaris and
Francheska Cedres also eclipsed doube-digits in the digs column with 10 and 11 respectively.
Amy Berry smashed 11 kills.
The last GCU student-athlete to achieve 20+ kills in one match was
Stephanie Rivera last season (10/29/10) when she collected 20 at Wilmington University.
Kutztown's
Brittany Harman (Jr.-Hanover, PA) led all players with her 21 digs while teammate
Liz DiValerio (So.-King of Prussia, PA) contributed 16.
The Golden Bears improve to 15-5 on the year.
GCU looks to snap the slide this Saturday when they host Post University in CACC action at 12:00 PM.
