LAKEWOOD, NJ- Senior
Alley Abbate netted four majestic blasts to give her exactly 100 in her collegiate career as she led the Georgian Court University lacrosse team to its first victory of the season, a 20-1 blitzing of CACC rival Chestnut Hill College, Tuesday afternoon.
Abbate becomes the sixth player in GCU lacrosse history to reach the 100-goal milestone, joining
Natalie Bermudez ('07-'10), Christine Flaherty ('07-'10), Laura Housel ('07-'10), Ryan McGrath and
Lauren Conaty. Conaty scored her 100th goal on March 5th at Stonehill College.
The future of Lions' lacrosse made its presence felt as well during this contest as freshmen
Stephanie Gallo and
Heather Jensen netted their first career goals.
Conaty (3 goals), McGrath (3), Corrine Coyle (2), #Amanda Dilger# (2) and
Catherine Dee (2) each enjoyed multiple-goal games.
The Lions improve to 1-4 (1-0 CACC) while the Griffins fall to 1-2 (0-1 CACC).
Jennifer Molzon earned her first career victory, collecting five saves in the complete-game effort.
Georgian Court returns to action on Tuesday March 22 with a 3:00 PM game at Wilmington University.
