Weekend Warriors ... GCU Lax Goes 2-0 with Visits to Holy Family and Post

Ryan McGrath tallied 16 points (12 goals, 4 assists) in two victories this weekend
LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University lacrosse squad took to the road for two contests this weekend and came home victors in both. The Lions strutted out of Holy Family University with a 21-12 triumph Saturday afternoon before traveling to Connecticut and disposing of Post University, 24-11 on Sunday.


SATURDAY

Ryan McGrath captained the offense in GCU's second win of the week over the Tigers with seven goals while fellow seniors Alley Abbate (three goals, assist) and Jillian Hadfield (three goals) also contributed hat tricks.

Other players enjoying multipoint efforts include: Corrine Coyle (one goal, one assist), Shannon Mastrogiovanni (two goals, assist), Catherine Dee (two goals, assist), Molly McCourt (goal, assist) and Stephanie Gallo (goal, assist).

Jennifer Molzon improved to 7-4 in net for the Lions as she tallied three saves in 60:00.

The first-place Lions improved to 7-4 (7-0 CACC) with the "W" while Holy Family fell to 4-8 (3-5 CACC).


SUNDAY

It was Gallo's turn to light up the scoring column on Sunday as her career-high seven goals paced Georgian Court's offense to a 24-11 blitzing of Post University. 

McGrath made it 16 points in two days whith her five goals and four assists while McCourt collected five points (four goals, assist) and Hadfield registered her second consecutive hat trick. 

Coyle (goal, two assists), Mastrogiovanni (two assists), and #Daryl Carr# (two goals, assist) also contributed multipoint efforts.

Molzon denied four shots in 53:11 for her eighth victory of the year in goal.

Georgian Court, winners of eight straight, now have a record of 8-4 (8-0 CACC). Post remains winless in CACC play (0-8) and drop to 1-10 overall.

GCU returns home for a CACC match vs. Dominican College this Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 PM.
