LAKEWOOD, NJ- The top-seed Georgian Court University lacrosse squad made quick work of four-seed Dominican College in the CACC Championship Tournament semifinals Saturday afternoon leaving the Lions one victory away from its second consecutive conference crown.
#2 Philadelphia University dropped three-seed Holy Family University in the second semifinals match, 19-12, setting up a rematch of the 2009 title game, which the Lady Rams won, 11-9.
The Lady Chargers (7-9) led by a 2-1 score after
Brianna Blank's (Pt. Pleasant, NJ/Pt. Boro) tally at 27:30 in the first before the Lions would rattle off 12 unanswered goals to take a commanding 13-2 advantage. GCU would enter the half leading 15-4.
The GCU seniors led the onslaught as
Ryan McGrath collected eight points (five goals, three assists) and
Jillian Hadfield fired home five goals of her own.
Shannon Mastrogiovanni contributed five points (three goals, two assists) while
Alley Abbate flipped in four scores.
Daryl Carr led all players with six assists.
Stephanie Gallo (2 goals, assist) and
Corrine Coyle (two goals) also enjoyed multi-goal efforts.

Jennifer Molzon earned her first career postseason victory as she denied nine Dominican shots in 60 minutes of action.
The Lions (14-4) put its 14-game winning streak on the line in tomorrow's championship game vs. the Lady Rams (11-6) Sunday afternoon at noon, again hosted by Georgian Court University.
