LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University volleyball squad commenced Homecoming Day with a morning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest vs. Bloomfield College, defeating the Lady Deacons, 3-1 (25-16, 21-25, 25-21, 25-10).
The match was anything but an offensive showcase as Bloomfield hit .028 as a team. The Lions were not much better with a combined hitting percentage of .179.
Tatiana Villariny-Rodriguez paced her teammates with five kills.
Francheska Cedres distributed 15 assists while Gabriela Berrrios-Hernandez led the way with six digs.
Jhoan Agosto contributed five blocks and four kills for the Lions (10-12, 7-5 CACC).
Former Lion, Karol Oliveros, led the Lady Deacons with 15 assists. Da'Cheray Thomas topped all players with her nine kills. Dominic Spivey controlled a game-high 12 digs while Josie Rezende tallied 10 of her own.
Bloomfield falls to 2-13 on the year (1-12 CACC) with Saturday's loss.
Georgian Court travels to West Chester University this Tuesday for its next competition, a 7:00 p.m. non-conference affair.
