WATERBURY, Conn.-The Georgian Court University volleyball team traveled to the Nutmeg State Saturday afternoon for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at Post University, defeating the host-Eagles, 3-1 (25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 25-20).
The Lions have now won three consecutive CACC matches and improve to 9-5 vs. conference foes (12-13 overall). Post sits at 7-13 overall and 6-6 in conference play.
Tatiana Villariny-Rodriguez led the team with 14 kills (.414 htting percentage) and five block assists in the match.
Anabelle Barinas drilled 12 kills (.423) with
Amy Berry contributing 11 of her own.
Jaslene Lopez dished a match-high 46 assists to go with her seven digs.
Dara Schroeder also provided seven digs in the contest.
Graduate student
Kelli Reynolds (Stamford, Conn.) led Post with 14 kills to go along with two block assists. Sophomore
Julia Slyaktina (Moscow, Russia) put up 34 assists and three service aces. Graduate student
Vanessa Ramos (Milford, Conn.) and senior
Kelly Hayes (South Orange, N.J.) had 14 and 11 digs, respectively.
GCU returns to the Wellness Center Tuesday evening for a 7:00 p.m. CACC showdown vs. Chestnut Hill College.
