LAKEWOOD, NJ- Head Coach
Daniel Sempkowski and his Georgian Court University volleyball team will "Dig Pink" Tuesday evening when the Lions host fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference member Chesnut Hill College at 7:00 p.m. in the Wellness Center Arena.
In the perpetual fight against cancer, GCU will sport special "Dig Pink" jerseys during their match. A silent auction will be conducted throughout the evening as fans are invited to place a bid for the game-worn jersey of the Lion of their choice. Exciting games and prizes will also be conducted and distributed throughout the night.
All proceeds from the jersey auction, as well as from admissions at the door, will be donated to the Side-Out Foundation, which was established in 2004 to unite volleyball players and coaches and to have them work toward the common goal of furthering breast cancer awareness, education and patient services.
Side-Out supports teams nationwide in their volleyball tournaments, clinics and other fundraising efforts. The foundation offers practical support for fundraising in addition to educational material for participants in order to help them become effective advocates for breast cancer. We contribute the funds to organizations that serve breast cancer patients, whether it be in the form of research, medical services or compassionate support.
