Lions Extinguish Devils of U. Sciences With 3-1 Win ... Climb Over .500 in CACC

LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University volleyball squad defeated visiting University of the Sciences 3-1 (25-18, 25-21, 21-25, 25-12) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action Wednesday evening in the Wellness Center, pushing the Lions to 4-3 in conference play (7-10 overall).

Maria Antimisiaris and Tatiana Villariny-Rodriguez provided the offensive gusto at the net with a team-high nine kills apiece. Jaslene Lopez enjoyed a very productive effort with 28 assists, five service aces, and six digs. Teammate Francheska Cedres led the Lions with seven digs of her own. Jhoan Agosto drilled seven kills and tallied seven blocks on the night.

For the Devils (8-9, 3-4 CACC), Rachel Martin clubbed a match-high 11 kills while Kaileen Bevenour distributed 28 assists. Both Nicole Rivera and Stacey Wooden led all players with eight digs each.

GCU returns to action Thursday evening with a crucial CACC showdown at Philadelphia, commencing at 7 p.m. The Lions fell to the Lady Rams in the Wellness Center, 3-1 (25-19, 8-25, 27-29, 25-27), back on September 6.
