Hillburn, NY- The Georgian Court University Lions netted 13 goals in the second half to defeat the Dominican College women's lacrosse team, 17-14, Thursday afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.  With the loss, Dominican falls to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play while Georgian Court improves to 4-1 and 3-0 in the CACC.
 
 The victory is the Lions' 37th consecutive CACC regular season "W" and GCU's 19th triumph over its last 20 contests, dating back to last year.
 Molly McCourt scored the first goal of the game with 24:04 to go in the first half, but the Lady Chargers answered back with a 4-0 run to take a 4-1 lead.  From their the scoring went back-and-forth over almost a three minute span to make the score 6-3 Dominican with 10:10 to play before the break.  A 2-0 spurt by the Lady Chargers increased the lead to 8-3 and a late GCU goal from Kerry Stader made the score 7-4 at the intermission.
 DC opened up second half scoring to pull ahead 8-4, but Georgian Court came back with three consecutive goals to cut the deficit to 8-7.  A free position goal by KC Jentzen (Nanuet, NY) gave Dominican a two goal lead, but the Lions answered again with another 3-0 run to go ahead 10-9.
 A Lady Charger goal tied the score at 10-all, but GCU netted two goals in about a minute's time to take a 12-10 lead.
 The Lady Chargers came back with their own 3-0 run to regain the lead at 13-12, but less than a minute later GCU tied the game at 13-13 with under seven minutes to go.  Freshman Gina Sparaco (Freeport, NY) completed the hat trick with her third goal of the game to put Dominican ahead 14-13 with 6:32 on the clock, but the Lions roared back with four unanswered goals for the 17-14 victory.
 
 Corinne Coyle netted five goals for the Lions, the junior's fourth straight game with four or more goals. McCourt tallied a hat trick and two assists in the contest. Stephanie Gallo collected two goals and two assists. Olivia Rotunno and Samantha Shaw each had a pair of goals and an assist. Jennifer Molzon also drilled two goals in the game.
 Sophomore attacker Brianna Blank (Point Pleasant, NJ) led the Lady Chargers with a season high five goals.  Sparaco finished the game with four goals, while Jentzen netted three goals.
 
 GCU goalkeeper Amanda Cathcart collected 13 saves in the 60:00 effort, earning her fourth straight victory in the Lions' net.
 Starting goalie Veronica Iozzi (Chester, NJ) made eight saves in 49 minutes of action, while Dominiqu Labate (Bronx, NY) finished the final 10:58 seconds in the net.
 
 Georgian Court returns home this Saturday at 12:00 PM for a CACC match vs. Wilmington University.
