Clash of the Titans ... Soccer Falls 1-0 to Arch-Rival Philadelphia University in Key CACC Match

LAKEWOOD, NJ- In their first meeting since the 2011 CACC Championship Tournament semifinals last November, Georgian Court University and Philadelphia University hooked up again, this time on Investors Savings Bank Field, in a key conference contest Wednesday afternoon.

Unfortuntately for the home team, the Lady Rams again got the best of the Lions, 1-0, as a Kristen Ferguson (Jr.-Haddonfield, NJ) shot off the left post ricocheted into the net at 80:29 for the game's lone tally. The goal, assisted by Jessica Stec (Sr.-Pleasant Valley, NY), was Ferguson's first of the campaign.

It was a low shooting affair as Philadelphia (3-2, 3-0 CACC) outshot GCU, 7-1. The Lions (2-2-1, 1-1 CACC) held a slight 2-1 advantage in the corner kicks column.

Goalkeeper Kelli Kowalewski (Sr.-Shamong, NJ) earned the win and the shutout for the Lady Rams with a lone save in 90 minutes off action. GCU's Casey O'Connor collected two saves in the defeat.

GCU concludes its four-game homestand this Saturday afternoon with a CACC contest vs. Dominican College. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
