LAKEWOOD, NJ- After having the opportunity to see Wilmington University in action at this past weekend's Bentley Invitational in Waltham, Mass., the Georgian Court University volleyball squad was eager to take the floor vs. its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference foe, which they did Wednesday evening in the GCU Wellness Center.
The visiting Wildcats got the best of the host-Lions on this particular evening, defeating the home team, 3-1 (25-19, 25-17, 22-25, 25-20), while staying perfect (3-0) in conference play and improving to 11-4 overall. GCU drops to 4-7 with a 1-2 mark in the CACC.
Tatiana Villariny-Rodriguez paced the Lions with a 11 kills while
Jaslene Lopez contributed a double-double with 31 assists and 10 digs. Franceska Cedres led all players with her 16 digs.
Wilmington enjoyed an oustanding offensive evening as they posted an impressive .330 hitting percentage
. Nicole Wiechecki (15 kills, 0 errors, 9 digs) hit at a .536 mark while teammate
Kasey Couch registered a double-double with her 17 assists and 10 digs.
Alex Siolos also sported a double-double with a team-high 21 assists and 12 digs.
Georgian Court stays in conference as they travel Dominican College Saturday afternoon at 12:00 p.m.
