Volleyball Stuns Holy Family University With 3-2 Comeback Road Victory

Philadelphia, Pa. - Georgian Court University rallied from two sets down to defeat the Holy Family University volleyball team by the score of 3-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Tuesday night at the Campus Center.
 
Holy Family is now 3-13 overall and 1-4 in the CACC, while Georgian Court improves to 5-8 overall and 2-3 in conference action.
 
Holy Family took the first two sets by the scores of 25-23 and 25-22 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.  However, Georgian Court rallied and won the next three sets to pick up the victory.  The Lions won set three by the score of 25-21 and then went on to win set four and five by the scores of 25-18 and 16-14 respectively.
 
Junior Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) led the Tigers with a match-high 15 kills to go along with two solo blocks.  Freshman Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) added nine kills to go along with 15 digs, while sophomore Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) tallied seven kills and nine digs.
 
Junior Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) came away with 40 set assists and had 19 defensive digs.  Freshman Madi Mcshane (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) finished with 18 digs and had four service aces.  Fellow freshman Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) tallied six kills and recorded eight service aces.
 
For Georgian Court, Amy Berry led the team with 13 kills, while Tatiana Villariny-Rodriguez added 12 kills and eight digs. Gabriela Berrios-Hernandez led the team with 21 digs, while Jaslene Lopez had 34 set assists.

GCU looks to build off this thrilling victory as they travel to Concordia College this Saturday for another CACC match. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
