Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University volleyball squad hosted Concordia College and St. Anselm College Saturday afternoon in the GCU Wellness Center. The Lions dropped the Clippers, 3-1, to earn a CACC victory before falling to the Wolves by the same 3-1 tally in a non-conference match in the nightcap.
The Lions (9-9, 7-1 CACC) opened its contest vs. Concordia by winning the first two sets by scores of 25-18, 25-13. The Clippers rallied to salvage the third set, 25-21, before GCU sealed the win with a 25-21 score of its own in the fourth and final set.
Anabelle Barinas led the way for the Lions with 13 kills. 
Jaslene Lopez distributed a match-high 24 assists. 
Francheska Cedres controlled 23 digs.
Irina Impellittiere (Sr.-Cold Spring, N.Y.) paced the Clippers (1-8, 1-8 CACC) with eight kills and 11 digs. 
Leina Braga (Jr.-Salvador, Brazil) also secured 11 digs while teammate 
Hillary Hoffman (Sr.-East Meadow, N.Y.) shared 22 assists.
In Game Two, St. Anselm (5-10) took a 2-0 lead with wins of 25-18 and 25-22. The Lions grabbed set three, 25-16, to make the score 2-1, but the Wolves secured the road win with a 25-18 advantage in set four.
Kyla Gustavson (Sr.-Nashua, N.H.) snared a double-double for St. Anslem with 12 kills and 10 digs. 
Natalie Steinwart (Jr.-Aurora, Ill.) collected a match-high 25 assists while 
Melissa Jewett (Jr.-Newton, Mass.) led the Wolves with 13 digs.
Tatiana Villariny Rodriguez topped the Lions with 15 kills while 
Kelsey Oliver and Lopez dished 18 and 17 assists, respectively. Cedres gathered 20 digs, followed by 18 by Gabriela Berrios-Hernandez#.
GCU concludes its six-match homestand Tuesday evening with a CACC contest vs. Chestnut Hill College at 7:00 p.m.
